"Payam Younessi Poor" is a member of the new wave of young Iranian sports journalists. In 1998, under his mentor and long time sports writer and editor, Ardeshir Laroodi, Payam began his professional career at the daily sports paper, "Abrar Varzeshi". Since then, Payam has worked with other daily sports newspapers including "Sobhe Varzeshi" and "Jahan e Football."
The Iranian national team hero and 1990's Capitan, Abedzadeh, was a key
influence in Payam's turn to sports writing. Payam has a unique view of
football and his articles would reflect such view.
