Nader Davoodi is an award winning Iranian photojournalist. For the past decades, he has been working both on and off the record to produce  ethnographically detailed works that document a very important period  in contemporary Iranian history. While Davoodi's work can best be  described as documentary, he aims to artistically capture important  moments in everyday life rather than merely document.

The coverage of the 12th Asian Games (Hiroshima 1994) is a precious  collection of the games & sidelines of the most important Asian sport  event, while the 1994 & 1998 World Cups in the USA & France were  covered as the most important international sport occasions.

His long list of awards includes Silver Medal from the Sport Festival  of Photography, Honourable Mention from Omiya City Humour Photo Contest  in Japan, Golden Medal of International Photographic Salon of Japan  (Asahi Shimbon) for three consecutive years, Second Place in the  Picture of the Month Contest at the Agfa Surfer’s Online, Honourable  Mention for the Best Photo Essay in the 1st Iranian Photojournalism  Contest, Honourable Mention for the Third Iranian Sports Photo Contest,  Third Place in the Environmental Section of 13th Festival of Youth Cinema, Honourable Mention for the Third Iranian Sports Photo Contest, Third Place in the Environmental Section of 13th Festival of Youth Cinema, First Place in Sports Photo Section of the 3rd Iranian Press  Festival, First Place for the Best Sport Reportage of the 3rd Iranian  Press Festival, Second Place for the Best Title of the 3rd Iranian Press Festival, First Place in Sports Photo Section of the 2nd Iranian Press Festival, Golden Medal for the 3rd International Photo Festival of the Child & Young Adult, First Place in the 2nd Iranian Sports Photo Contest, Honourable Mention for the Friendship Section of the 12th Festival of Youth Cinema.

He has also been nominated for the Best Sport News Photo of the 4th Iranian Press festival, Best Artistic Photo of the 4th Iranian Press Festival, Best Sport Report of the 4th Iranian Press Festival, and Best International Report of the 2nd Iranian Press Festival.

As a Professional, Davoodi has worked with Raw Talent Photo Agency. He has been the Publisher of Tamashagaran Weekly Magazine, and has worked with IRNA News Agency for more than eight years.

He is a Founding Member of the Iranian Photojournalists Association, a member of the Eastern Canadian News Photographers Association (ECNPA), a member of the International Sport Press Association (AIPS), and a member of the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ).

As a Freelance, he has cooperated with World Photo Bank (Japan) as a photographer, and with Soccer Canada Magazine as a Journalist. As an assistant photographer he has worked with Sport Illustration and National Geographic Magazine. He has been a Member of Jury in the 5th Iranian Press Festival-Photo Section; a Lecturer of Photojournalism & History of Photography in Azad University; Managing Editor of ENVOY, A  Canadian Monthly for the West & Central Asia; Member of Jury in the 4th & 5th International Photo Festival of the Child & Young Adults.
